I’m a software architect by trade and a geek at heart. I find my forte in designing software solutions that solve complex problems. I use techniques like Domain Driven Design, Event Based Architectures and several design and integration patterns that have historically proven their efficacy in producing solutions that are accurately functional, performing, maintainable and stand the test of time. In my spare time I build custom pcs and overclock them too. Geek all around.

I like to learn from different attributes from different people, be that the steadfast determination and grit of Angela Merkel or the creativity and whimsy of Josh Thomas.

What is the one social issue Byron would like to fix?

Inequality in all its forms – particularly in the workplace. Having people from diverse backgrounds bringing unique views from a variety of perspectives and experiences not only improves decision-making and outcomes, it also helps create a level playing field for everyone and normalises differences!

I’m a journalist, editor and communications specialist who – as my insta handle says – can’t sit still.

I juggle ideas for stories, new projects, businesses and books that will one day be bestsellers while bouncing around the world being inspired.

I’ve spent a lifetime creating magazines, writing newspaper stories and running editorial departments for major media companies in three Australian states, on London’s Fleet St and in New York.

In 2012 I ran away to Paris, where, I’ve lived and worked for the past eight years as a senior journalist and communications consultant for luxury brands, media networks and international organisations.

In in a nutshell, I love to inspire and engage audiences through content and communications while collaborating with clever creative types to help a business tell their brand story.

What gets Michelle out of bed?

Coffee and the promise of adventure

Who are Michelle’s role models?

Angela Merkel

Annie Lennox

Huruki Murakami

Shirley Horn

Simone de Beauvoir

Malala Yousifazi

Emma Thompson

I’ll stop there…you get the drift

What is the ONE Social issue that Michelle would like to fix?

Solving the challenges of wasted food and poverty.

Not to sound all Bob Hawkerish but, the former Prime Minister did say in 1987 that no child would live in poverty by 1990. Well that didn’t happen and he lived to regret it.

But now, when 30 per cent of food produced for human consumption is wasted across the food supply chain – which equates to 1.3billion tonnes of food annually – including 45% of all fruit and vegetables and 20% of all meat – why are kids still going to school hungry? It irks me. Big time.

Three words that describe Michelle

Excitable. Optimistic. Curious.

What Smoothie ingredient is Michelle?

The nuts, definitely the nuts. (do you put nuts in a smoothie?)

Finding any path to do things better.. Incremental steps to support our planet. Incremental steps to help others find their Why. Living with purpose.

Who are Clarissa’s role models?

Sheryl Sandberg, Brene Brown, Adam Grant, Michelle Obama, Dr Libby, Simon Sinek, Stephen Covey, Nina Simone, Friday Kahlo, Marina Abramovic…

What is the ONE social issue that Clarissa would like to fix?

The future of our planet. It is easy to become very overwhelmed by the amount of change we need to implement as a human race on this planet to ensure its survival. I overcome this by taking small steps each day that are within my control to ensure I am doing what I can. I am contributing to our planet by living (almost) off the grid. I focus on limiting waste, never buying bottled water and limiting food purchased in plastic. I focus on the things that are within my control in hope of contributing to the greater good.

Three words that describe Clarissa

Grounded, Calm, Open

What smoothie ingredient is Clarissa?

Coconut cream. I would be in the background, subtle. But an essential ingredient that pulls everything together.

Coffee (and my early rising baby!)

I’m here to do my part to make a brilliant future – not just a better one – turning up the confidence dial for one incredible person and one courageous conversation at a time.

The famous ones: Nelson Mandela; RBG; Brené Brown; Adam Grant; Greta Thunberg.

My real heroes are a part of my every day. They are my husband, my parents, Rania Awad and Clarissa Ramsey (Founding Smoothies) and my few other very nearest and dearest besties. They all “do the work” and “walk the talk” – they show up in all their human glory and create incredible experiences, art and businesses. They challenge, they struggle, they achieve and they love with every part of their being.

What is the ONE social issue that Adrienne would like to fix?

What? The empathy deficit.

Why? I want to see a world where we don’t have refugees. I want to live in a community where people see themselves as global citizens with a natural reflex to recognise the humanity and rights of those fleeing discrimination, persecution and inherently eligible to participate in a healthy economy and environment.

How? Connection.

• A free and diverse press able to do invest in detailed investigative journalism and to report on the truth no matter the consequences for those in power.

• New social media models not based on monetary growth, but on truth and curiosity.

• Inclusion, sharing stories and giving platforms for the stories of the varied faces, minds and hearts of humanity.

What gets Micheline out of bed?

I wake up every day with the sense of purpose in making a difference by creating positive changes in the environment I’m in and believing in the work I do. Making that difference on both professional and a personal front makes me look forward to that new sunrise.

Who are Micheline's role models?

Growing up in a country shattered by civil war and political corruption has made me realise that inspirations are imbedded everywhere and in everyone who have risen above violence, abuse, discrimination and any inhumane circumstances.

It’s inspirational to see a child finding the energy to play and put on a smile while battling cancer and people who lived through wars for decades, losing loved ones, yet still finding happiness in the smallest things life has to offer.

I am motivated, inspired and empowered by any story that puts things in perspective for me highlighting how lucky I am, giving me that extra push to achieve my goals.

What is the ONE Social issue that Micheline would like to fix?

Poverty – I believe poverty is a contributing factor of many other social issues such as crimes, illiteracy, discrimination, wars, child mortality, child labour and so on.

This ancient problem is a constant battle as it evolves with society, political interests and private agendas. Its manifestations include hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusion.

If I could contribute in working towards solving poverty, I would begin with strengthening the public education sector, skills training, implementing healthcare systems, providing and creating more job opportunities with gender equality and shifting people’s priorities to address this core issue.

Three words that describe Micheline

Loyal, Honest, Dependable

What smoothie ingredient is Micheline?

Chilli…. For that extra kick!

Engagement Strategies for Digital Transformation Success

Engagement Strategies for Digital transformation success

Using Data To Measure Your Strategic Success

I’ve done many things in IT in my 30-year career, but out of everything, it has constantly been unlocking the value of a company’s data. That has proven to be the most transformational. I’ve consolidated the infrastructures – applications, networks, phone systems, mail platforms, and more – of companies that have grown by merger and […]

Doing what’s right over what’s easy

When leading ourselves, others and our businesses, how can we better live our purpose and values? Clear the path to choose whats right over what’s easy.

When your values lose their meaning

Working as a team with the same North Star and shared motivations for problem solving is the ideal. What I see too often is a gap (sometimes a whole time zone) between what a company, a leader, a person says and what they do.

I have a dream…

The world is on fire. We have arrived in 2020 with a confusing unraveling of what it feels like to be human in the world. The time has come to heal and repair, to use our knowledge for the good of the planet and the people and to build the future we have imagined.

Why story telling matters…

Her stories mesmerised me; the energy in her storytelling rippled through me. She was like a giant glass of sparkling water overflowing with big, boisterous bubbles that snapped, crackled and popped with life and living.

Your Time starts Now…

It used to be called an elevator pitch.
Back when we rode elevators (that was so 2019)
That short conversation that explains an idea, product, business or person in such a clear and clever way that your audience immediately understands. And gets excited about it.
